Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae was at fault in their latest win as the Bavarians edged past Wolfsburg 3-2, leading Lothar Matthäus to believe the Bavarian giants defence remains a problem.

For the two Wolfsburg goals, Bayern made defensive mistakes that lead to the opportunities coming about. For the first goal, Sacha Boey conceded a penalty that he really did not need to, and for the second goal, Kim Min-jae took far too long in possession in his own half of the field, lost possession, and Bayern did not recover in time to block Lovro Majer’s shot. Once again, as had often been the case under Thomas Tuchel last season, it mas mistakes of Bayern’s own doing that allowed Wolfsburg right back into the match.

German football legend Lothar Matthaus believes Bavarian giants Vincent Kompany side still have defensive problems, as shown in their 3-2 win at Wolfsburg in the opening game of the season, according to Ufabet Germany on Tuesday.

‘The defence remains a weakness for Bayern, Matthijs de Ligt was sold even though he was the most consistent defender in the last two years. He was the leader at the back. Now Bayern are looking for a successor to David Alaba again.’

‘For me it’s a pity that this leadership is missing. At the สมัคร ufabet end of the day, we’re talking about FC Bayern and every centre-back in the current Bayern squad has to be clear about themselves first. A leader has to be clear about himself and be accept by the team.’

‘Of course, the mistakes made by Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano were also a topic of discussion in the dressing room. The club had big plans and now everything is going back to the way it was last season,’ Matthäus wrote in his column.
